Technology and planning

As a platform for the development, we chose the Unity engine because it is easy to master and relatively analogues are inexpensive (because it is free). And of course it allows us to make our game cross -platform.

We used JIRA and Confluence as platforms for tracking tasks, it is convenient and helps to observe progress. To visualize all time tasks, we wanted to use one of the services to build Roadmap. However, such services are quite expensive, so we have created a task card in Google Sheets (only TSSS, do not tell anyone).

Development on quarantine

Most of the development fell on the period of self -isolation, so I had to work remotely and resolve the emerging issues online. It was unusual, because at home not a working atmosphere at all. But I had to postpone the series and cookies aside and get down to business!

Since we worked in the team, no one had the opportunity to stretch the tasks so as not to bring each other. Therefore, many were faced with situations when it was necessary to overpower themselves and show a good result in a short time.

Difficulties of implementation

In the game, the miner has a passive income, it is charged every second. There was a problem with eliminating the possibility of manipulating this income by changing the date and time on the phone. To avoid this, a binding was made to online time, but in this case it was impossible to play offline, which was quite sad. Then a telephone hybrid was made online, but even so the game was just deceiving enough. As a result, a way out was found: use the time counting deep in the device system.

The difficulty that arose in the process of working on animation is the creation of a character skins. New skins lay on the skeleton unevenly, and there were more shifts than it should. As a result of the character’s limbs, they rejected right during mining. A terrible future, agree. Now we have figured out these mistakes and work on the skins and optimization of character movements.

Getting together even before quarantine, we decided that we would make a game in two months, but as soon as buckwheat and toilet paper disappeared from the shelves of stores, everything has changed. With the beginning of the pandemic, it became impossible to get together, because the entire workflow went underground – into a discord. Oh, this distance … someone lost interest in our small project and constantly hung in Lol (I saw everything), someone could not stay with us for personal reasons. But one way or another, we found new people and for three months of work, all the functionality of the game was ready!
