The announcement of the domestic action-RPG Troubles erased the whole Runet. The press, mindful of love for questions that no one asked, has already christened the game with an answer immediately to the Witcher and the Assassin’s Creed series. And in general, the developers from Cyberia Nova have already changed their name, mumbled 260 million rubles and lost, like GMU among the Roleviks forever arguing about the rules.

There is no dispute, if it was worth it to come up with a network, it is for mocking, ridicule and speculation. Nevertheless, projects in other areas of art with state investments have denied themselves in order over the years, so that the distrust of the public can be understood. But people seem to refuse to accept the fact that in Russia there is no industry, there are separate studios with very different games that slowly drag a local game industry forward. And for this, projects like “Troubles” are also needed, and it is too early to judge any quality in order to immediately bury it without the right to at least a slice of recognition. I wish to play all sorts of successes, it will be at least interesting to see it.

Moreover, the genre always loved, and there were examples of appeal to national folklore. One of them is as many as three wolfhound games, with which playing in the person of Stavitsky was confused at one time: the “Warrior’s Way” is a parody of Shysher, and “The Last of the Gray Dogs” is a Dubina Dubina Dubina. But I have nothing to tell about these two daring, because I learned about their existence only recently. But the “revenge of the gray dog” for good, has become a game of childhood for me and I would like to pay tribute to her a kind of respect for my leisure in this text trip along the Nostalgia River.

Although I am not a fair miracle, I see your thoughts – what to write about an absurd craft on a lousy film, which was released then, if only to make money lightly. This is another cheap blade that was seen more than once, we remember the stink from the garbage of the “boomer” or “anti -killer” games.

In my opinion, this is, if it is true, it is only partly, and in this text I will reveal the dignity of the game for those who did not play, because the wolfhound is even unique. And he is ready to argue, not so often reviews of such Russian games, made not in trash format, come out.

Since the story of a slave who conquered freedom in the Old Slavonic setting is a whole franchise of six books, three games, a series and a film. Before moving on to the main dish, I will tell you a little about each incarnation of the character in different forms, so as not to stay away from the world of the game.

The author is called the mother of the Slavic fantasy genre, I did not study the roots so deeply, but the book, especially for the literary reality of the past, is definitely not typical. The wolfhound tried to destroy the template of history about revenge, because its accomplishment is an opening scene of the work, and everything else is devoted to the search for itself and its place in the world, some fresh breath, in the seemingly interrupted fate. The appendage is unique and fresh setting, the matter is not only in the names or the fucked birches. This is the difference in cultures and a clash of the world familiar in the genre of Western Christian understanding of the world, where the gods are divided with earthly worries. And Slavic mythology, where the deity is the personification of the elements and it has quite an evil or good manifestation in the tangible world. From this, the attitude to death, soul, duty, family grows and all more mundane parts of life growing.

Unfortunately, if you go down to specific examples, then the rainbow breaks on this. The book has a very measured narrative, nothing really happens in it, because of the general monotony it is difficult to make out fateful turns. She tries to be action -packed, but for this she has too low pace and simply few events. History Vyazlizes in the inner world of the protagonist.

The wolfhound is unleasant and clamped, keeps all emotions in himself, it is difficult for him to understand himself and even harder – to understand others to understand. From the very beginning, his motivation is unclear to take care of every person hearing – a saved girl and a young man in the old man’s body, he is ready to give the last crumbs to the needyer, even to those who do not want him, at first you are weakly believed in such a hero. Over time, the story swings, the wolfhound understands what care is not only about oneself, feelings for others and almost childish realization that only the closest can make it so painful, and they can say nonsense and make mistakes, and his duty to find the strength to forgive them.

It’s slightly funny to look at this adventure from the perspective of a modern person, a wolfhound is a very progressive character, because it grew under matriarchy. He reads women without exception, extols in everything, in no case does not look at them as a product or a reward for exploits. Today, for this would be immediately accused of indulging the agenda, but here everything is submitted quite logically and such a feminine also gives the book its flavor.

The problems of the novel are purely technical, it has a clear advantage of two opposites – peace and storm. Because the first half is almost entirely of thought, domestic descriptions, relationships of characters. And the second half opposite – with battles in each chapter. I do not want a continuous Rubilov fantasy, but calm episodes of life lacks sensuality and quite strong artistic details so that they evoke emotions, instead they catch up with boredom and drowsiness. And combat chapters win due to dynamics, good descriptions of the battle, and even in places epic.

At the end of the book, there is a feeling of omnipotence of the protagonist, everything that is connected with the military business is given to him too easily, except for jokes, for the book he fights at God’s judgment and wins, here it would be a gorgeous course to give him an enemy who can not be able to cope with a sword, something more metaphorical and astral, but there is no such thing in the book. On the other hand, the wolfhound understands all his powerlessness in the world of people who rule emotions, he realizes his weakness in illiteracy, for the time he does not know how to read, but this is not enough for the balance between the strength and weaknesses of the character, it is difficult to worry about him.

An atypical world came out, mundane, without a clash of races and all -consuming evil. But the gloomy of the wolfhound seemed to sprout through the entire book, and about people with their human problems, too, somehow did not work out. But the customs and culture of different peoples are well served, which, I believe, is important for immersion in the invented world.

Success, which came 20 years ago, is associated with the monstrous shaft of the translated fantasy, when the people were overeated by the most do not indulge in elves, goblins, princesses and dragons. And there was simply no other assortment! And then my quasi -Slavic character appears in my native entourage. I am interested in what others do not want or cannot tell.

They made the game on it, on the Blu -Ray publication the picture even flaunts a proud inscription – “Conan -Warvar meets the Lord of the Rings”, immodest, but, in the end, for those years the picture is not cheap – 10 million forever green.

The film tried to throw out all the chapel from the book and focus only on key events. I did not get to the literary source, so I am ready to accept all the ideas of adaptation. The first thing that cuts down from the very beginning to the end is the terrible installation. Even in simple action scenes, where the character simply jumps over the fence, you can count three gluing, it is very difficult to perceive from this, there is no smoothness and it annoys at the household level. Infuriates that in peaceful scenes the frame is simply rushing about to jump as soon as possible, sometimes not allowing the characters to finish the replica and withstand pause. It is especially disappointing that the installation kills all the beauty of the picture, sometimes it was really filmed, with a pleasant flower border, there were also worthy shots, especially with nature. The only thing that, apparently, they were taken more than necessary, and insert each other, because of which the film sometimes looks like just slicing for songs in karaoke.

The action scenes are poorly set, they obviously did not pour over the fencing, and, again, at least some kind of battle the battle is killed by echoing gluing gluing, there are also typical diseases of the two thousandths – Slumo is not 100% of the scenes. Yes, and it is ridiculous in some places blood that whips the fountain no worse than in « kill Bill ».

The cinema is simply poorly written at the scenario level, which tried to logically link some lines from the book, simultaneously killing all the dialogs in the picture. The characters here hardly speak, their relationship does not develop in any way and most of them do not give stories, it even silence their names. According to the covenants of the book, the wolfhound calls for the service of the Knesenka . According to the film, it turns out that the wolfhound asked for the keepers to the hee to use it as a bait for his blood enemy and avenge. I personally like this version, adds ambiguity. But something tells me that she was introduced unintentionally. Partly, the director explains the scenario weakness of the film:

This is the first time I am dealing with the style of fantasy, with the world where everything is invented, but, at the same time, is subordinated to strict canons. However, stylistics style, but in the center there should still be a human drama. In the film « Wolfhound from the kind of gray dogs » there will be very little text – one continuous action. I intend to tell history in the language of silent cinema. I’m not interested in history in itself, but its visual interpretation.

As for me, the choice of Alexander Bukharov is unsuccessful for the main role, he, of course, is well done, that he did not spare himself on the set, he performed all the tricks himself, and where he needs to play a harsh muzzle, he still looks like. But where all the same we need an acting nerve and a feeling of emotions escaped from the character, he cannot cope, reacting equally woodenly to what is happening. He succeeds in the sneaky look well, but he was incapable of a full -fledged wagering of the character.
